Stephanie Parade, PhD

Dr. Parade is Director of Early Childhood Research at Bradley Hospital and Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown University. Dr. Parade’s research is focused on infant and early childhood development in contexts of risk, and the evaluation of community-based interventions to promote maternal and child health and prevent childhood adversity and family violence. Nearly all of Dr. Parade’s research occurs in partnership with state and community collaborators. This includes research funded by the NIH, CDC, and HRSA focused on biomarkers and health outcomes of childhood maltreatment, predictors of family engagement in evidence-based home visiting interventions, and community-based randomized trials to prevent maltreatment and promote maternal and child health. Dr. Parade mentors numerous pre-doctoral trainees, post-doctoral fellows, and early career faculty affiliated with the Brown DPHB, STAR T32, and STAR COBRE.
