
Community Collaborative Core
Core Objectives
The Community Collaborative Core aims to:
Enhance the impact of the STAR COBRE at state and local levels by developing relationships with community collaborators
develop capacity and support STAR Investigators to successfully recruit and retain children and adults with stress and trauma histories from historically marginalized populations
increase the competence of STAR Investigators in issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belongingness and in working with historically marginalized populations through trainings that focus on self-reflection and intersectionality

Activities
The Community Collaborative (CC) Core accomplishes its objectives through various activities and projects:
Convened a Community Advisory Board to provide guidance on local community and government priorities and provide consultation to STAR investigators related to developing community collaborations
provides consultations and trainings for community partners on a variety of topics relevant to their goals, such as grant applications, program evaluation, data analysis, and interview training
provides workshops on community-engaged research in a collaborative setting for investigators and community partners
Services
The CC Core provides a variety of services to investigators and community partners:
Services for investigators
Feedback and consultation on grant proposals
Assistance with development of recruitment plans
Inclusion of COBRE investigators in community facing work
Services for community partners
Workshops on special topics
Consultation on agency specific needs
Please note that some activities and services may be reserved for STAR investigators only in order to provide more hands-on support. Submit a consultation request and we’ll discuss how we can best support you!
