Carly Goldstein

PhD

Dr. Goldstein is a Research Scientist at the Weight Control and Diabetes Research Center of The Miriam Hospital and an Assistant Professor (Research) in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown University. She received her PhD in clinical psychology from Kent State University and completed her clinical internship at Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Following internship, she completed the NHLBI Cardiovascular Behavioral Medicine T32 postdoctoral research fellowship at Brown University. 

Her research program aims to optimize digital health for prevention, secondary prevention, and interventions for cardiovascular disease and other complex medical conditions. She specializes in utilizing optimization designs to improve research efficiency and incrementally advance science. Dr. Goldstein’s previous research has included co-designing digital health interventions for patients and healthcare providers, optimization designs, improving health equity through digital health, and science communication. Dr. Goldstein is a Fellow of the American Association for Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation and has received funding for her research from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, Advance CTR, the Rhode Island Foundation, and the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior.
